The ARCA West Ignite teams have one race under their belt with British Columbia's Shane Harding claiming victory at Sun Valley Speedway in Vernon on May 8. Harding earned a win at Yakima Speedway on June 5 in an ASA late model. In both events the Langley native was followed to the stripe by his father 1999 NASCAR Northwest Tour champion, Pete Harding.

KALISPELL, Mont. (June 11, 2010)-The ARCA West Ignite Series makes the first of three appearances this season at Montana Raceway Park Saturday, June 12 for the NAPA Battle of the Borders 150 presented by Kokanee and Super Seal.

Also on the schedule will be the Westward Bound Construction/Keller Williams Realty Legends Series, Bandoleros and Thunder Roadsters.

New for the 2010 season is the combining of NAPA's involvement with MRP and the annual border challenge amongst late model drivers from Montana, Idaho, Washington, Alberta and British Columbia.

Bodie Morton won the 2009 edition of the Battle of the Borders en route to his first career late model victory on his home track. Billy Salmonsen ran second that night with Wrango West rounding out the top-3.

To grab a second win at Montana Raceway Park with the potential of doing so on a regional touring series captures Morton's imagination, he said.

"It would be huge to win an ARCA race that's for sure but we're going to just go in and work on our car like it's any other night," said the driver of the No. 77 Carlson Law Office Chevrolet. "Our focus is to get this car to come out of the corner and not think about who else is out there racing this weekend. We're just logging laps and working on our set-up for the (Coors Light Montana) 200 next month."

Still to ride into Saturday's race as the defending winner does carry some extra motivation, Morton added.

"Winning that race last year was a big boost to our whole season. I had my best season in points (finishing second to champion Alex Lessor), ran in the front of the 200 all night long and just had a great time each race we went to. It'd be great to do that again."

Heading into this weekend's Westward Bound Construction/Keller Williams Realty Legends Series, Tyler Corpron picked up a hard-fought victory on May 15 over Wrango West and Tim Corbett. Defending series champion Jake Bisset earned the fast time award and had moved as close as third place late in the season-opener before a spin in turn No.3 shuffled the Semi-Pro driver back to sixth place at the checkered flag.

Corpron has a four-point lead on West in the driver's standings with Corbett back eight markers. Bisset (-10) and Spike Schultze (-12) round out the top-5.

Zach Havens and Scott Lee have waged a spirited battle for the drivers points lead in the Thunder Roadster division with Lee winning the season opener and Havens following on May 22 with his first win of 2010. After two races Lee holds a one-point edge on Havens with Dave Daughtry (-14) in third place.

In the Bandoleros division, Dalton Halden earned her first win of 2010 on May 22 and with it brings a four-point advantage over Tristan Corpron into this weekend's action.
