Lewis Wins ASA NWLMT Championship and Race

The 2009 championship point's chase closed to within one point before the start of the 150 lap feature. Brent Harris (E. Wenatchee, WA) gained one point by being the fastest qualifier. During the race Harris started behind Gary Lewis and it looked like it would go right down the checkers for the championship.

Yakima, WA (September 20, 2009): Gary Lewis (Snohomish, WA) won the
iRacing.com American Speed Association Northwest Late Model Tour 2009 Season
Championship and the Better All Auto Sales 150 at Yakima Speedway. Second
place in the race went to Jared Vorse (Olympia, WA) on the podium for the
first time this season. Garret Evans finished third.



The 2009 championship point's chase closed to within one point before the
start of the 150 lap feature. Brent Harris (E. Wenatchee, WA) gained one
point by being the fastest qualifier. During the race Harris started behind
Lewis and it looked like it would go right down the checkers for the
championship. Lewis took the lead on a restart late in the race and Harris
fell back out of contention.



Lewis by virtue of the championship now has an ASA banner to go with his
NASCAR banner. The family and friends run team celebrated their victory with
flowing champagne in the winner's circle.
