Elma, WA—September 4, 2009—Labor Day will be celebrated by the World of Outlaws doing what they know best, and that is racing as they make their annual stop at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington on Monday, September 7.

Kraig Kinser was victorious for the first time in his career at Grays Harbor Raceway last season and became the eighth different winner in the last eight A-Feature events for the World of Outlaws at the track dating back to 2000. He took the lead from Washington native Jayme Barnes late in the race in lapped traffic and used a strong restart with two laps to go to pull away for the win.

Steve Kinser, the 20-time World of Outlaws champions, has won at the track with the series, with two of those being A-Feature victories and two preliminary feature triumphs. He has finished on the podium in 10 of his last 12 starts at Grays Harbor Raceway.

Donny Schatz and Jason Meyers, who are currently first and second in the World of Outlaws championship standings, have each won A-Feature events with the series at the track as well. Schatz won at the track in 2005, while Meyers was victorious in 2003.

The event at Grays Harbor Raceway is the eighth of 12 nights of racing that make up the Gold Rush Tour for 2009 and is the final event of the season for the series in the state of Washington.

Looking to repeat: Kraig Kinser won at Grays Harbor Raceway for the first time in his career last season, taking the lead late in the race in lapped traffic and withstood a late caution to score his first win as a member of Tony Stewart Racing. In each of his last four starts at Grays Harbor, the third generation driver has finished sixth or better. He has racked up nearly 30 Top-10 finishes this season as he continues a very strong second half of the campaign and recently moved into the eighth spot in the series championship standings.

Always near the front: Steve Kinser has always run strong at Grays Harbor Raceway, scoring four wins with the first of those coming in 1998. Dating back to 1996 he has racked up 18 Top-Five finishes at the high-banked 3/8-mile. The 20-time series champion finished third at Grays Harbor last season and has 12 consecutive finishes of eighth or better at the track, with 10 of those being podium finishes. Knowing the way to Victory Lane: Jason Meyers swept both races for the World of Outlaws at Grays Harbor in 2003, taking the checkers first in the preliminary feature and then capping the event off with an A-Feature win, and has finished in the Top-10 in 10 consecutive events at the track. The California native has won five times this season and is currently second in points as he chases his first World of Outlaws title.

Looking to add one to the list: Joey Saldana has come close to winning at Grays Harbor Raceway in the past, finishing second at the high-banked 3/8-mile in 2007 and looks to add to his series leading 15 A-Feature wins this season on Monday night.
