Yakima, WA (September 6, 2009): The annual Labor Day iRacing.com American Speed Association Northwest Late Model Tour event at Yakima Speedway has been postponed due to inclement weather. The event has been moved to Saturday September 19th at 7:00pm. The Better All Auto Sales /Better Haul Auto Transport & First Class Auto Sales 150 lap feature will become the championship for the 2009 season of the traveling super late model stock car series.

Two days of bad weather left the track and series officials with no choice on the postponement. The originally scheduled two day extravaganza was totally wiped with an all day storm on Saturday. With what looked to be clearing albeit very windy day today, Sunday, a strong thunderstorm cell moved over the track at the conclusion of the tour’s second practice session.

ASA NWLMT officials poled the 22 teams that where on hand this weekend as to whether they would be able to return on Saturday the 19th. The conscientious was a positive yes for the majority.

The series heads back to where the season started in May. The extremely fast high banked .250-mile oval of Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval in East Wenatchee, WA. On Saturday September 12th the tour will be there for the annual 200-lap race.

The points battle for the first ever iRacing.com ASA Northwest Late Model Tour is still a heated tussle between Gary Lewis (Snohomish, WA) and Brent Harris (E. Wenatchee, WA). WVSO is Harris’ home track where he has won late model championship. Lewis has also enjoyed success at WVSO. A slim lead of 12-points with two races to go in the 2009 season is held by Lewis.
