Rib America Joins Thunder on the Ohio for Evansville Event

Not only has Rib America joined the Thunder on the Ohio event, event organizers have added the Old National Bank Race Fan 4-Pak.

Evansville, Ind.(June 4, 2009) – Rib America, one of the nation’s  premier summer BBQ festival attractions, will be bringing some of the top award winning BBQ vendors from across the country to Evansville August 21-23 to be part of the 31st Annual running of the Thunder on the Ohio ABRA Unlimited Hydroplane Race.

“We are excited to announce Rib America as part of the race weekend,” said ABRA Vice Chairman, boat owner/driver and promoter Muscatel. “We are hoping to provide a weekend of fun for all of the racing enthusiasts, and Rib America is a wonderful addition.”

Rib America also has festival dates scheduled in St. Louis, Des Moines, San Antonio and Indianapolis this year.

“We’re also currently negotiating with national talent for concerts on Friday and Saturday nights, and will be announcing the concert lineups in a few short weeks,” added Muscatel. “We are extremely pleased with the excitement Thunder on the Ohio is creating.”

Not only has Rib America joined the Thunder on the Ohio event, event organizers have added the Old National Bank Race Fan 4-Pak.  Beginning July 6, race fans and families can purchase a Thunder on the Ohio Ticket Package with a donation of 4 cans or packages of non-perishable foods that benefit the Tri-State Food Bank. The Race Fan 4 Pak includes 4 weekend passes for $50, pit passes for Friday’s action, and additional pit passes for $10 each day. All children under 12 are free. These are only available with food donation at all Old National Bank locations; there are further details available on thunderontheohio.net

Old National Bank is a premier community partner for the Thunder on the Ohio unlimited hydroplane race.

The event organizers have also announced a cooler policy for the race weekend. It will be a “NASCAR type cooler Policy.”  Personal size coolers, 1 per adult, no larger than 12x12x12 inches will be allowed. Personal food items will be allowed but no alcohol beverages or glass containers can be brought into the event grounds.
