Stateline Speedway Gets Wednesday Night Fever boiling

Stateline Speedway kicked off 2009's Wednesday Night Fever action with a crowd pleasing group of cars and stars. Check out the results and story from Stateline's Seth Sands.

POST FALLS, IDAHO – April 9, 2009 – Drivers kicked off the 26-week Wednesday Night Fever racing series at Stateline Speedway Wednesday. Joel Schrader, Eric Chaney, Scott Rupert, Blake Williams, and Tim Benn grabbed the first main event wins of the 2009 season.

Joel Schrader, driving for Vern Dorsey, swept the Bump to Pass competition setting fast time and winning the dash, heat and main event over Noah Hamlin and defending champion Yvonne Lifsey.

Eric Chaney, driving the 2008 championship car seized the lead with laps ticking down from Bruce Garber to win the Fever 4 opening race. Garber inherited the lead from Tom Plybon on lap 15, who brought out a red flag with motor problems.

Brycen Tarr was second at the time but pitted under caution giving the lead to Garber. Garber, winner of the fast dash, finished second followed by heat winner Todd Hegel and Jerry Myers.

Plybon won a heat race. KC Garber took a dash win.

Stateline Speedway unveiled a new format and classification for the Road Runners.

Scott Rupert won the 20-lap main event for the Ruby Class. Tim Benn won the main event for the Emerald Class. Rookie Blake Williams took the win in the Sapphire Class.

Dash winners were Garrett Rupert, Ron Hunter and Scott Rupert. Gerry Kay, Eric Harris, Derek Colarusso, and Ben Hawk took heat wins in their classifications.

On Saturday the INSCA Winged Sprint Car Series kick off their season along with Street Stocks and Late Model 4’s. Events start an hour early at 5pm. Adult admission is $10; kids under six are free.


The wild, wacky, unpredictable action of Wednesday Night Fever continues every Wednesday at 6pm with the cars and superstars of the Road Runners, Fever 4’s, plus the wild and crazy Bump to Pass division. Adults are just $5.75; kids under the age of nine accompanied by adults are free.
