Memorial Field area upgrade soon

The city will ask for bids soon on a proposed $2.2 million realignment and redevelopment of Memorial Field and the property around it. Park and Recreation Director Bill Greenwood told ignite cda last week that ground breaking for a new parking lot associated with the project will be July 5 with completion set for October. The redevelopment calls for moving the Skate Park farther northeast of its current location. The urban renewal agency agreed to provide $1.559,000 for the realignment and related costs.
