Famed CHS coach Criner to undergo surgery Friday

Herb Criner, the former Coeur d'Alene High football coach, from 1981 to 1984, will undergo open-heart surgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, Friday. Criner, who still has many fans and admirers in the Coeur d'Alene area, led the Viks to the state championship with a 12-0 record in 1982.
