Two Oregon state troopers who fatally shot one of the main figures in an armed occupation of an Oregon wildlife refuge say they believed he was about to shoot one of their colleagues. Transcripts of interviews with the troopers are contained in 360 pages of documents released Thursday by Oregon law authorities from their investigation into the Jan. 26 death of Robert "LaVoy" Finicum. The two troopers said they believed Finicum was reaching for a gun inside his jacket pocket and that he was about to shoot a colleague of the officers about 15 feet from Finicum. Both troopers said Finicum repeatedly reached into his jacket while refusing to surrender/Associated Press. More here.
