With 3 hours to go before the filing deadline, only one candidate has filed as a "Democrat" for Kootenai County office: Tina Kunishige, who believes in the "Constitutional Sheriff" approach to the office, in which the sheriff reigns as supreme police officer in the county. With Kunishige running as a Democrat, Republican Sheriff Ben Wolfinger will be challenged by Tea Party candidates in the GOPrimary (John Green) and in the general election (Kunishige).
