Keri does slow burn over litter

Keri Alexander, publisher of the Shoshone News-Press, reacted strongly when she saw a clueless driver dump litter out her car window at a Shoshone County freeway exit:

"I was tested today. I've volunteered to pick up trash for the past couple of years, and I've always told Mitch if I ever witness someone tossing their garbage and littering I would probably lose my cool. Well, on my way back to the office this afternoon I witnessed a woman throw her trash right out of her car window with me right behind her on the freeway exit. I literally felt my blood boiling as I watched her make this very poor choice. I memorized her license plate, took n...ote of the type of car she was driving and reported her to the authorities. At first, I wanted her to pay a huge fine, jail time even crossed my mind and then after I settled down I really thought about what would it take to not make this poor choice again? And then it came to me, she should be required to pick up trash with the Sheriff's Labor program. Maybe two or three days of picking up hundreds of bags of trash would enlighten her to take better care of our beautiful Silver Valley. Be a part of the solution, not the problem." Question: I'm off the opinion that my g-g-generation was more conscious re: proper disposal of litter than subsequent generations. I don't think I'm being a Baby Boomer chauvinist either. The Beautiful Highway campaigns of the 60s (was it Jackie or Lady Bird who promoted it?) taught us how to handle litter. What do you think?
