Hearn: Why CSD needs $32M levy

On his Facebook wall, Coeur d'Alene school Trustee Tom Hearn explains why the district needs a $32M levy:

"With almost 23% of our budget dependent on supplemental levies it would be negligent to not ask for another levy. If a levy doesn't pass and the school district lost that much of its income there would be layoffs of staff and a significant loss of educational programs. Levies are required due to a chronic underfunding of our schools by the legislature. While there have been increases in the last few years we still are at 2009 funding levels and the last information I could find indicated that 93 of a 115 school districts in Idaho have asked for supplemental levies. The school district is asking for feedback about this proposal."

Question: Do you think the Legislature will embrace its responsibility to properly fund schools? Bwhaha (sorry).
