Bow-kle or Bake-ul?

Update: OK, troops. I went straight to the horse's mouth and asked 80YO Bill Boekel of 1180 Boekel Road how he pronounces his last name. It's (drum roll, puh-LEEZ) Bake-ul.

Moments ago, an patrol office called in a traffic stop at Highway 95 and Boekel Road, north of Lancaster Road in Hayden. Responding to the call, a 911 dispatcher said: "95 and Bow-kel." The officer corrected her: "It's actually 95 and Bake-ul." I've heard the name of the road, which stretches from Hayden to Rathdrum pronounced both ways. I say it as the officer does "Bake-ul." How do you say it?
