Edit: Freedom Index meaningless

The Idaho Freedom Foundation, which calls itself Idaho’s leading conservative think tank, has released its annual “Freedom Index” rating all the state’s lawmakers on their votes on 97 bills during the past session. Most Magic Valley lawmakers received flunking grades. In fact, nearly half the state Legislature – known nationally as one of the country’s most conservative – received an “F.” Who cares? Well, not many people anymore. It’s not uncommon to see legislators looking up the IFF’s positions on bills from their desks on the floor to guide their votes. But the IFF and its leader, Wayne Hoffman, seem to be losing clout in the Capitol. When you skewer all but a handful of the state’s GOP lawmakers, including party leaders and long-time Republicans with proven conservative voting records, your critique loses some effect.
