PFPD Finds Live Grenades In House
From Post Falls PD Facebook:
"The Post Falls Police Department would like to provide updated details regarding the suspicious devices incident that occurred yesterday evening (07/22/15). At approximately 5:30 PM on 07/22/15, the Police Department received information that there were possibly hand grenades in a house in the 500 block of West 12th Ave. Detectives and Officers responded to the house and did locate an undisclosed number of government-issued hand grenades. Upon finding these items, the home was evacuated, but an evacuation of the neighborhood was not necessary based on the location that the grenades were found in the house. Detectives received a search warrant, authorizing the seizure of these grenades. The Spokane Regional Bomb Squad responded to handle the recovery of these items. The grenades were determined to be live, but had their safety features still intact. The 92nd CES/CED from Fairchild Air Force Base also responded to the scene and took custody of the hand grenades, as they are considered property of the US Government. On 07/23/15, Raymond Edwin Ruprecht was arrested for charges stemming from this incident; Felony Possession of Unlawful Destructive Devices and Felony Possession of Stolen Property. He will have first appearance on 07/24/15 and is being held in the Kootenai County Jail." Full report here.
DFO: Luckily, close doesn't county in hand grenades, after all. Thoughts?
