1st Tomato Of Summer

Last night, I picked the first ripe Early Girl tomato of summer from my garden. And Mrs. O packed it in my lunch to eat with a sandwich today. Um-um good. I forgot about the sandwich and focused on the taste of the tomato. A store-bought tomato can't compare to one pick fresh from the garden, even those advertised as vine-picked that still are attached to a shirt length of branch. I eat a limited amount of tomatoes during the offseason, always mixed with something else, like a salad or a meat sandwich. As I write this, 4 or 5 more tomatoes are ripening. Mrs. O reports that 2 zucchinis have ripened overnight. I'm looking forward to dinner tonight.

Question: How do you best like to consume garden tomatoes?
