KCSO Update: Cape Horn Fire

In a news release today, the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office estimates that the Cape Horn Fire is 70% contained. The fire has been held to 1,326 acres. Some 480 people are working to extinguish the fire.

NIC Awards $20M Tech-Ed Contract

Contractor Leone & Keeble Inc., of Spokane, is the apparent bid winner to build the $20 million, 110,960-square-foot North Idaho College Career Technical Education Facility in Rathdrum. The city of Coeur d'Alene has compiled some potential "easy wins" for the East Sherman Avenue corridor, after two recent workshops. Among the "easy wins" are more shade trees and landscaping as well as an open-air market. Crapo & Risch have been twiddling their thumbs since Judge Edward Lodge announced his retirement last September. Now the state has a judicial emergency.
