Wind warning dropped to ‘advisory’
The National Weather Service late this morning dropped a high-wind warning for parts of the Inland Northwest as a strong Pacific windstorm began to wane. While gusts to 61 mph were reported around 7 a.m., the southwest winds overall were blowing at speeds below the prediction of peak gusts of 50 to 55 mph late Wednesday morning. Forecasters said reports of the strongest gusts were “spotty and some isolated wind damage was reported.” The high-wind warning was replaced with a less-severe wind advisory, which is set to expire at 4 p.m./SR.
