Update: The female victim in this morning’s crash has been identified as Crystal M. Jacobson. 33, of Priest River.

A 33-year-old female driver was killed in a rollover crash early this morning on North Rathdrum Mountain Road, off Nelson Loop Road, northwet of Rathdrum, according to the KCSO Facebook page. Deputies were called to the scene just before 4 a.m. They found a 1997 Chevrolet pickup resting on the driver's side with the 33-year-old victim pinned underneath. The pickup was southbound on Nelson Loop Road when it left the roadway, for an unknown reason, and rolled several times down an embankment. Passenger Robert P. Dickerson, 34, of Priest River, told deputies that he and the victim were headed down hill when the pickup began to roll. Dickerson, who was not injured, was able to climb out of the vehicle and seek help when the pickup came to a stop. According to KCSO, it appears the victim, who was half ejected, wasn't wearing a seatbelt. The female was pronounced dead at the scene. KCSO is withholding her name pending notification of next of kin. The accident remains under investigation.
