Huckleberries Online

Huckleberries Archives — 4.25.1994

20 years ago, I posted this item in my weekly Huckleberries column, under "Fire! Fire!":

"NIC prez Bob Bennett isn't getting the hang of his gentleman farmer routine. A few days ago, he lost control of a field burn and then himself. In a panic, he ran to the house to call the county 911 center. But he should have whistled. The S.O.S. call to CdA was transferred back to Mica Flats, where Bob's neighbor, Don Sausser, called out volunteer firefighters. Don is secretary of the Mica Flats/Kidd Island Bay Fire Department."

Question: Whatever happened to that guy, Don Sausser?
