OpenCDA Goes After Reporter Selle

Looks like Bill McCrory of OpenCDA.com is attacking the messenger today, as a result of recent reporting by Jeff Selle of the Coeur d'Alene Press on the Coeur d'Alene city elections. McCrory, who founded OpenCDA.com with Mary Souza and Dan Gookin and who recently dubbed Steve Widmyer unfit to be Coeur d'Alene mayor, now is saying, basically, that Selle's unfit to be a newspaper reporter. (Personally, I think Jeff has done a superb job reporting local news since he returned to the newspaper business. He was a very good hire by Mike Patrick and the Coeur d'Alene Press.) Recently, Selle has been threatened for an article on mayoral fund-raising by Rev. Tom Wold of the Ocean of Life Foundation (who left a recording that warned: "So, with that, I expect you to act professional," he said. "If you can't, we'll pursue a little farther and faster after you.") Now, he's being publicly flayed by Souza's long-time sidekick. Is Jeff getting too close to some truth here? McCrory's OpenCDA.com article here.

Thoughts?
