Edit: Don’t Encourage Raul, Jim, Etc.
We were not surprised by an Associated Press story Monday about Idahoans telling their four Republican congressmen to continue the shutdown. We were, however, disappointed. According to the story, Idaho's delegation reports their offices are receiving phone calls 2-1 in favor of "continuing the government shutdown until President Barack Obama agrees to defund or delay his new health care law." This was not a scientific poll by any means, and should be taken with a grain of salt. ... We expect the majority who made the calls were far-right dwelling Republicans -- tea partiers, if you prefer -- who would do or say anything anti-Obama. Encouraging those four elected officials to continue the shutdown certainly falls in that category/Murf Raquet, Moscow-Pullman Daily News. More here.
Question: Do you really believe that Idaho favored shutdown 2-to-1? Or is this another example of the Tea Party arm of the right squeaking loudly?
