Huckleberries Online

Parting Shot — 10.15.13

Yellowstone National Park visitors congregated along a road to witness the rare treat of seeing five grizzly bears -- a boar plus a sow and her three cubs -- feeding on the carcass of a bison in mid-September 2013. To make the spectacle more interesting, five gray wolves also were regularly darting in and out to rip away chunks of meat. Despite a lot of growling, swatting and some chasing, all of the predators plus numerous scavenging birds took part in the feast over three days. Rich Landers/SR Outdoors explains photo further here.
