Amber: Some Candidates Clueless

Coeur d'Alene council candidate Amber Copeland, via Facebook wall: "It is so irritating to me to hear some of the candidates talk about things like McEuen and the LCDC when it is so blindingly apparent that they have little to no understanding of how tax increment revenue financing works. It is the spreading of misinformation like this that creates unrest. They say things like these projects are being paid for by raising the taxes of the people or that the cost of the park goes over the city's budget when there is no truth to either of those comments. All it takes is a little bit of proactive research to understand how things work. I just wish that people running for public office would take the time to research some of these things before they just market their assumptions as facts."
