Huckleberries Hears …
... That the Reagan Republicans were a bit agitated when analyst Jeff Ward mentioned media bias as one of the reasons (he believes) for the lopsided losses of another slate of the organization's endorsees. In particular, he claimed the campaign reporting of the Coeur d'Alene Press was biased against the Reagan Republicans. This, with reporter Jeff Selle sitting in the meeting room at Fedora. Selle was responsible for two of the better news stories on local elections that I've seen in recent years -- the attempt by mayoral candidate to shield the identity of a $1000 donator and the questionable approach used by Truth North Idaho to put together an attack flyer against Balance North Idaho endorsees. I can't see how two newspaper stories sunk the Reagan Republican ticket and the tens of thousands of dollars poured into advertising by its candidates. Then, I'm not the one looking for excuses. It'll be interesting to see how Jeff covers the meeting for Friday's Press.
