Festner To Oppose Evans For Seat 2

Jared Festner said Friday he is running for Coeur d'Alene City Council. It's the first attempt at public office for the Houston, Texas, native, who has lived in Coeur d'Alene for three years. He is seeking seat 2. Festner, 35, is in his final year at North Idaho College pursuing an information technology degree. He is married, has two children, and coaches his son's soccer team. He said Friday he would have favored a public vote on McEuen Park and would not have favored the anti-discrimination ordinance the City Council recently adopted. He hasn't yet appointed a treasurer. Amy Evans is also seeking seat 2/Tom Hasslinger, Coeur d'Alene Press. More here.

Question: Do you expect partisan Republicans to field a candidate for every Coeur d'Alene council seat?
