Fun Ramps Up, Summer Winds Down

Three weeks. Three weeks until Labor Day weekend. Three weeks to cram in all that you’ve not accomplished this summer. Camping. Big dumb action flicks. Fruit picking at Green Bluff. Lazy days at the lake. Visits to Silverwood. Hiking. You get the idea. The problem has been one of Too Much To Do. It’s not a problem solved this week, either. In Sandpoint, we bid adieu the big white tent on the banks of Lake Pend Oreille with tonight’s sold out Steve Miller Band show, Saturday’s set by The Avett Brothers and Sunday’s symphonic finale. On Thursday, the country duo Big & Rich will perform at the Coeur d’Alene Casino, the latest in a line of big name country acts to hit area stages. (Next up? Martina McBride on Aug. 31 at Northern Quest.) On theater stages beginning Thursday, we have Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre opening “9 to 5: The Musical” and Interplayers opening “Church Basement Ladies”/Carolyn Lamberson, SR Spokane7. More here.

Question: What do you still hope to do before Labor Day?
