Boise State football coach Chris Petersen added another first to his resume Thursday night in Houston. Petersen was named the Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year for the second time in four years - making him the first two-time winner since the award was introduced in 1986. Petersen is 49-4 in four seasons at Boise State, including two Fiesta Bowl wins. He also won the Bear Bryant award in 2006 after the Broncos' first Fiesta title. ... The Broncos (14-0) finished No. 4 in the polls this season. Petersen said he was "shocked" to beat out coach Nick Saban of national champion Alabama for the honor/Chadd Cripe, Idaho Statesman.
