Long before Adolf Hitler and his Nazis appeared on the world scene, the sleepy Lake Pend Oreille community of Lakeside featured two destination hotels, including "The Swastika." Herb Huseland, who lives across the water at Bayview, reported on this odd but historic hotel in a column for Trish Gannon's River Journal here.
