HBO Book Club: Did You Think Harry Was Toast?
... and what was that noisy baby-like thing at the train station with Harry Potter and Dumbeldore?
Before we turn from Harry Potter to a new book for discussion, we need to discuss Harry's "death." What was your reaction when it became apparent that Harry must die if there was any hope to destroy Voldemort? Also, did you think Harry was a goner when he refused to defend himself in the final showdown with Voldemort? Did you begin reading the book thinking that Harry was going to die. Did you cheer when he didn't die? Also, what was that thing that was making noise in the background when Harry had the strange encounter with the post-mortem Dumbledore? Why do you think J.K. Rowling had Neville Longbottom finish off Voldemort's snake rather than a more central character like Hermione or Ron?
