Going Mobile

Vans are big this summer

Judging by recent trip to the North Cascades National Park, van life is picking up speed in the summer travel game.

Vans of all descriptions -- fancy Sprinters to DIY conversions -- far outnumbered the traditional RVs at the Colonial Creek campground. This fuels our observations that more consumers seem to be leaning in that leaner direction.

During a time when sales of recreational vehicles are going strong across the board, vans are among the industry leaders when it comes to purchases.

There are loads of reasons why this trend is ramping up and we're going to report more on that soon, but we'd love to hear from fellow travelers. Are you seeing more vans on the road and in campgrounds? Are you thinking of going in that van life direction? Send us an email at goingmobile@spokesman.com.
