Make your RV a ski lodge at Mt. Bachelor

Most ski areas don't care about RV travelers. Mt. Bachelor in central Oregon is one of the rare mountain resorts that offers excellent camping options right at its base.

For $50 a night, you can get an electric hookup just steps from the Pine Marten lift at Mt. Bachelor's base. The resort offers 20 powered spaces, along with many more unpowered spots for just $20 a night.

From the looks of things, it's a nice arrangement. During my visit in early February, about 10 vehicles were parked in the powered spots and probably 30 others were parked in the non-powered spaces.

Not a bad way to stay right on the mountain and get first tracks in the morning.
