A shooting at a free speech event last weekend in Copenhagen, Denmark, left two people dead and several others wounded, prompting a college student from Spokane to examine how close-knit Denmark is responding to the violence.

Kylie Mohr, a 2012 graduate of Saint George's School, is now a junior studying political science and journalism at Georgetown University. Mohr, who grew up in Spokane, is studying abroad for a year in Copenhagen. She interned with CNN last summer, has written for her college newspaper and is pursuing a career in journalism.

Mohr, who has been in Denmark for six months, has written an op-ed piece that will be published Saturday in The Spokesman-Review. A similar story she wrote appeared earlier this week in the Copehagen Post.
