Another Green Monday: Inland Northwest Land Trust poetry contest and an evening with Jess Walter

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Calling all nature writers! The Inland Northwest Land Trust is asking you to show some local love with a poetry contest. Two rules: Write an original nature poem about a favorite location, animal, plant, etc. in eastern Washington or northern Idaho and it must be 30 lines or less.

The selected poet will read onstage at "Woods, Words, Wine: An Evening With Jess Walter" Thursday, November 29 at Barrister Winery at the beginning of the event. The winner will aslo receive an autographed copy of Jess Walter's latest novel Beautiful Ruins, and receive a ticket to the event. Entrant must be 21+ due to the venue.

The deadline for submission is Friday, October 26, 2012. Submit up to 3 entries to Brooke Nicholson at bnicholson@inlandnwlandtrust.org or mail them to Inland Northwest Land Trust, 35 W. Main Avenue, Suite 210, Spokane, WA 99201.

The Inland Northwest Land Trust is a local, non-profit, non-political organization with over 450 members. Through easements, acquisitions, and by working with other conservation partners we have helped preserve 14,694 acres of wetlands, shorelines, farmlands, and forests in eastern Washington and northern Idaho for present and future generations
