Spokane permaculture study group tonight
Linda Woordrow, author of the Permaculture Home Garden, said permaculture “is about saving the planet and living to be a hundred, while throwing very impressive dinner parties and organizing other creatures to do most of the work.” Perhaps a new concept to many folks in the region, tonight is an opportunity to learn more at the "Designing and Implementing Permaculture Systems in Spokane Valley" with guest speaker Ed Bryant. The meeting will go from 6-8pm, at Spokane Public Schools building at 200 N Bernard St.
At this workshop, you'll get the chance to share food and talk with other people interested in discovering how we can better meet our needs and provide for our communities in ways that benefit the earth. Details after the jump from organizer Mary-Kate Wheeler.

HOMEWORK
Remember to pick at least one permaculture design principle to investigate before the meeting. Do a bit of research or reflection on what it might mean, what it could look like in the landscape you call home, how you already practice it or could practice it more. We will have time to share our thoughts in small groups next time we meet. You can find a list of permaculture principles here: http://permacultureprinciples.com
THANKS
It has been exciting for me to see the level of interest in permaculture design and its applications in the Spokane area. Over the last few months it seems that there have been a growing number of people sharing their interests and ideas. We hope that new folks will continue to join us in investigating these ideas and building a community to support each other in the process.
So what is Permaculture?
Permaculture is a whole-systems approach that can be applied to design problems at any scale – from your back yard garden to a regional master plan. Can you envision a living landscape that collects and cleans water, builds nutrient-rich soil, supports a variety of wildlife AND produces an abundance of food, fuel and other resources throughout the year?
Why a Spokane Permaculture Study Group?
Bringing people together for inspiration, learning and laughter – the Spokane Permaculture Study Group is open to anyone interested in investigating permaculture design principles and applying them in the Inland Northwest. We aim to build on the ideas, experiences and goals of group members. Our content will be shaped by the group and may include: videos, readings, skill-share workshops, design projects, the occasional guest speaker, whatever you want to see!
