Down To Earth

Friday Quote: Marc Gauthier

"So, a guy from Spokane spends two weeks in Louisiana poking his nose around and filming, and if he knows more than the President of the United States about what’s really happening down here on the beaches, in the marshes, if the administration doesn’t have what I have learned in two weeks, then we are in big trouble. We are screwed.” - Marc Gauthier to Paul Haeder.

Last night I attended the world premiere of Marc Gauthier’s “Gulf Coast Blues – Oil In Our Veins” at the Magic Lantern with a captivated audience as part of Sustainable September. A deep bow to Gauthier for making the harrowing journey to the Gulf to tell this story and to Paul Haeder and the Spokesman-Review for all their work in promoting this unforgettable film and for Dispatches From A Disaster. Check my review of the trailer here and I will post a review of the film on Monday.

On Tuesday Sept, 7, at the Garland Theater, a showing of Gulf Coast Blues starts a five-day film festival. Gauthier will have a Q and A and Down to Earth will host the event. Be there or be square.
