Sorry about the late notice, but WooHoo!  it's Recycle Week (July 21-27).

From Recycle Now: Recycle Week aims to raise awareness of recycling and reuse and encourage people to waste less in order to reduce the amount of waste which goes to landfill. This year the focus is on small electrical and electronic equipment such as kettles, irons, hairdryers, electronic games, CD players and drills which people do not always realise can be recycled or reused. Don't worry, we just found out ourselves.  Maybe we don't take it as seriously as our friends across the pond.  For that's the only reason we found out, a courtesy email reminder from a UK organiztion called Recycle Now - who host the official site for Recycle Week. 

Regardless of borders or boundaries, Recycle Week is a good reminder to inventory your recycling and consumer habits.  Sure, we should be conscious of this every waking second, but we all slip up so it's goofy videos like the Agony Aunt one found on the Recyle Now site that help get us back on track.  Seriously - go produce a tailor made video for yourself to see what happens when you part with your electrical items and find a new home for them.

Commenting on Recycling Week, Jane Hall from Recycle Now said: "Millions of people now recycle on a daily basis and we wanted to show them that their is life for small electrical items too so we’ve produced a personalised agony aunt video for every visitor to the Recycle Week website. The videos help people get over the break-up with their old kettles and toasters and helps them pledge to find the items a new home. Once they've seen their video they can then share the story of their break-up with their friends online."
