One of the finest, and definitely most under appreciated blogs in Spokane and the Inland Empire is the Northwest History blog.  We were introduced to this particular blog by an old college professor and mentor of ours, Dr. Bill Youngs (author of The Fair and the Falls, the definitive history on Expo '74).

Northwest History is written by Larry Cebula, Public Historian at Eastern Washington University and Assistant Digital Archivist at the Washington State Digital Archives - and is probably the only blog we read that has won an award.

Be it the history buffs in us, or that we're proud alums of EWU, but we rank Northwest History high on our list in an increasingly impressive and diverse local blogosphere.

There's an opportunity tomorrow morning to check out a collection of art that was commissioned by the U.S Bureau of Reclamation beginning in 1968, and to hear a presentation on the topic.  EWU Professor of English Paul Lindholdt, PhD, will present on this topic at 10 a.m., Feb. 18, 2010, for the EWU Retirees Association.
