Sun People Dry Goods grand opening today!

The opening grand celebration is today! The locally-owned store will carry eco-smart products for everyday living, from traditional hardware to local and ecologically-conscious gifts – many made in our region by folks who haven’t had a market in Spokane.

Doors open for at 9:00am and the celebration starts at 11:00am with a ribbon cutting by Mayor Mary Verner. (Check Taylor Weech’s column on the store in the current issue of Out There Monthly.) , music by Brian Young and Our Mother the Mountain, kids’ activities, David’s Pizza, chocolates from Chocolate Apothecary, a Sun People coffee blend from Roast House, worm bin demonstrations and store tours

They found a home in a 1918 warehouse listed on the Spokane Register of Historic Places at 24 W 2nd Avenue. According to the site, “the remodel includes R-38 insulation at the ceiling, new energy-efficient windows and a heat/cooling recovery unit. The interior will consist of non-toxic paints and stains, salvaged wood and furnishings from throughout the Spokane region, formaldehyde-free, recycled, and FSC certified wood products, and American Clay Natural Plaster.”

Green Drinks will be held at Sun People Dry Goods on December 14th and keep updated via their facebook page HERE and at sunpeopledrygoods.com.
