Down To Earth

Good afternoon from Copenhagen

The many names and faces to remember from Copenhagen?  For two weeks we've followed the likes of Bill McKibben and Arcbishop Desmond Tutu - we've held a keen eye on the numbers of youth activists in Copenhagen, an all to often times forgotten demographic.  We've paid attention to organizations like Friends of the Earth.  And now Dot Earth is recapping the many voices and views to be remembered from Copenhagen.  From climate contrarian Senator James Inhofe to Bolivian President Evo Morales - here's part one of a who's who in Copenhagen.

Andrew Revkin of Dot Earth had an interesting observation earlier in the week - where's the word population?  "By 2050 or so, the world population is expected to reach nine billion, essentially adding two Chinas to the number of people alive today. Those billions will be seeking food, water and other resources on a planet where, scientists say, humans are already shaping climate and the web of life."  So where's the discussion about how we're going to gauge emission trends on a planet that is swelling by the second?  Read more HERE.
