Down To Earth

Ride Spokane’s newest trail tomorrow

Come join DTE tomorrow as we'll be among the first cyclists to ride the new Children of the Sun Trail - a new bike/pedestrian trail incorporated into the new stretch of the North Spokane Corridor.  The interesting thing about this new bike/pedestrian trail is that it's being completed in conjunction with the highway project, not after the construction for vehicles is complete.  So this is just part of what will eventually be a bike/pedestrian trail that will run the entire length of the new corridor.

If you're interested in riding, there are two ways to go about this.  The official ride will meet at the trailhead (north of Lincoln on Freya) at about 12:15pm, where the ride will head north to where the trail crosses Market, and the ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 1pm on the bridge at this point.

If you'd like to meet earlier and ride with the FBC, meet us at the fountain in Riverfront Park at 11 a.m., where we will be riding North on the Centennial Trail to Lincoln and Freya to meet up with the rest of the riders.  We know what you're thinking, the FBC rides in daylight?  Well not usually, but this is an exception.  See you tomorrow.
