Down To Earth

Music to our ears

We were pleased to come across an announcement from Spokane's River 99.9 FM about their Green Team and a Spokane River cleanup event they are organizing for this weekend - April 18th, at 8 a.m. Good for the "River" for staying true to their name and taking the initiative to cleanup their namesake. 99.9 Green Team(small) And that particular stretch of the river - from the Green Street bridge down into Gonzaga is particularly messy as a result of the river cresting its banks last spring. All along the Centennial Trail between the river and Upriver Drive are the remnants of those flood waters - mostly ecological debris like mud, leave clumps, broken branches and dead trees and bushes. It's really too bad that the city and the parks department hasn't made an effort to clean it up. Because in less than a month, it's likely that the river will be up over its banks again and a whole new mess will be left for another time.

So kudos to 99.9 The River for organizing this event and it's safe to say that The River's Green Team is "DTE Approved"!
