Clean coal - another holiday myth

Ah bah humbug to this "Christmas" carol. Before you write us off as a bunch of scrooges, here us out. We love parodies (if you don't believe check out our impressive Weird Al playlist on the iPod) but something about this really got us annoyed with the holidays. In case you haven't crawled out from underneath all of the economy and political scandal news lately, the "clean coal" PR people have been busy making sure everyone in America knows that "clean coal" is the future - the end all of global warming. Millions of dollars have been spent on TV, print and radio advertising all in the name of "clean coal" greenwashing. In a recent op-ed for the New York Times Al Gore said, "those who spend hundreds of millions promoting 'clean coal' technology consistently omit the fact that there is little investment and not a single large-scale demonstration project in the United States for capturing and safely burying all of this pollution." Despite scores of scientific and intellectual response displaying the dirty side of "clean coal", the greenwashing continues. Case in point....
