Eye On Boise

So far today, Otter has acted on over a dozen bills

So far today, Gov. Butch Otter has signed 10 bills, including the Medicaid budget, an amended bill regarding local building codes, and several other budget bills; issued one veto, on the charter school administrators bill; and allowed two bills to become law without his signature, SB 1316 regarding attorney fees in licensing disputes, and SB 1375, a trailer appropriation bill which allows the Legislative Services Office to contract for technical expertise to review technology-related budget requests. Otter wrote in his transmittal letter that he worried the move could conflict with state procurement laws; he requested lawmakers to provide a list of any consultants they use to review a project to the state Division of Purchasing, so those parties can then be excluded from bidding on the projects, as required by Idaho law.
