Senate takes up anti-trespassing bill…

After the House’s dramatic move this morning to once again dump the governor’s health care bill without a vote – after its Health & Welfare Committee twice sent it to the House floor for a vote of the full House – the Senate is now debating the amended version of HB 658a, the trespassing crackdown bill, a concept that's been pushed for the past two years by two Texas brothers who bought up large swaths of land in Valley County and closed it to public access for hunting, fishing or recreation. The bill has been amended in the Senate via a "radiator cap" amendment that completely replaced its original language.
