Senate Ethics Committee dismisses ethics complaint against Sen. Foreman
The Senate Ethics Committee has “concluded its work and lacks probable cause to move forward” on an ethics complaint against Sen. Dan Foreman, R-Moscow, who yelled “abortion is murder” at a group of University of Idaho students who were pushing for birth control legislation at the Statehouse, a move that was followed by a tweet from an unverified Twitter account purporting to be Foreman’s telling the students to discuss “killing babies” with a Democratic lawmaker.
Foreman told The Associated Press on Feb. 20 that he had no plans to apologize; he denied any ties to the social media account that purported to belong to him.
Legislative ethics committee proceedings are closed, but Hill said in an email to the news media today that he felt it was his “duty” to report the result, “since the filing of an ethics complaint regarding Senator Foreman was made public.”
