Eye On Boise

Another very busy day in Idaho’s state Capitol…

The annual

It’s another busy day at the Capitol today – and it’s also “Buy Idaho” day, when vendors fill three levels of the Capitol rotunda with booths, displays, product demonstrations, giveaways and more. Amid all that, there are budget hearings in JFAC this morning on the State Appellate Public Defender, the Public Defense Commission, Attorney General, Department of Fish & Game and Office of Species Conservation; the governor’s tax bill is up for introduction in House Rev & Tax, sponsored by House Majority Leader Mike Moyle as are tax proposals from Reps. Priscilla Giddings, R-White Bird, and Clark Kauffman, R-Filer; Rep. Paul Shepherd, R-Riggins, is bringing back his proposal to let state lawmakers nullify U.S. Supreme Court decisions, and is on the House State Affairs Committee agenda for its 9:30 meeting; a measure regarding the Idaho Health Care Plan is on the House Health & Welfare Committee agenda at 9 a.m.; and that’s just the early morning stuff today.

It’s also the day of the City Club of Boise pundits forum, in which I’ll be participating; it’s at 11:45 at the Boise Centre on the Grove.
