Former Justice Jones to address City Club June 27 on refugees, immigrants
Former Idaho Supreme Court Justice Jim Jones will address a City Club of Boise forum on June 27 on refugees and immigrants, entitled, “A Perspective on the World’s Huddled Masses.” The former justice and former two-term Idaho Attorney General traces his interest in the plight of war victims, including refugees, orphans, and those who endangered their own lives by helping U.S. troops as translators, to his service with the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 1968-69. From that experience, Jones concluded that the U.S. should keep its doors open to refugees and immigrants, and that doing so is in the national interest.
The luncheon forum is set for 11:45 to 1:15 at the Grove Hotel in downtown Boise; tickets are $20 for City Club members; $27 for the general public; $10 for students; $350 for a reserved table for 10; or $5 for listen-only tickets. Registration is online here; the registration deadline is Friday.
