The House has voted 60-5 in favor of HB 132, the bill from Rep. Lance Clow, R-Twin Falls, to allow motorists who are passing another vehicle on a two-lane Idaho highway to exceed the speed limit by 15 mph without getting a ticket. The vote sends the bill to the Senate side.

Then, the House adjourned for the weekend. Before the gavel fell and the representatives took off for their various parts of the state, Rep. Lynn Luker, R-Boise, cautioned amid laughter, “Don’t go over the speed limit yet.”

The five “no” votes were from Reps. Armstrong, Gibbs, Jordan, Manwaring and Packer.
