Statesman names new editor, Rhonda Prast of Kansas City Star
The Idaho Statesman has named a new editor and vice president: Rhonda Prast, assistant managing editor for digital at the Kansas City Star. Prast replaces Vicki Gowler, who retired in March.
Debra Leithauser, Statesman publisher, said, “She knows where our industry is going, where our readers’ interests are and how best to connect with them. It’s an exciting opportunity for the Statesman and for Boise.”
Prast holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Arizona State University and a master’s in journalism from the University of Missouri. She previously worked at the Minneapolis Star, the Miami Herald and the Seattle Times. The Statesman reported that she’ll start her new job in Boise on Aug. 1; their full report is online here.
